The Book Trust are the UK's largest reading charity and they reach millions of children every year with books, resources and support to get every child reading, regularly and by choice. Every year we donate a sum of money to The Book Trust as we believe supporting children with learning resources is important.
Managing Director Chris Breward completed 20 marathons in 2020, in order to raise money for a local charity which helps provide experiences to terminally ill children. His efforts raised enough money to purchase a caravan, which is used by the charity to provide experiences for children with terminal illnesses and their families.
zambezi sunrise trust
Founded by one of our clients, The Zambezi Sunrise Trust was born out of the experience of two of the trustees who worked as volunteer teachers in southern Zambia in early 2016. The trust is dedicated to providing ongoing support to their projects through the provision of buildings, books, student needs, teaching materials, uniforms, sports and musical equipment, hygiene products and nutritional support. Their primary focus is on children but their support extends to women’s groups so that they are better able to support themselves and their children.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice first opened its doors in 1988 to provide services, free of charge, for people with advanced illness, people approaching the end of their lives and those who are bereaved. We support this charity with a lump sum donation every Christmas, as we believe they are a valuable asset to the Durham community.
When we first opened our South Shields office, one of the first things we did was to partner with The Customs House - a charitable organisation that believe in arts and entertainment for all, which is at the heart of South Shields.
The aim of the South Tyneside Pledge is for all organisations in the area to commit to taking small steps to boost local economic activity, reduce health inequalities, reduce carbon emissions and enhance civic pride.
